Week 10 Reading Notes: Epified Video

I once again decided to watch/listen to the videos put together by epified. I really like the playful stories of how Krishna grew up. He played many tricks and grew up like most children would it seems. If any kid had these great powers I am certain that they would be playful with them and pull the same tricks. I think  I could create a western story from the 12 episode of the part B series of the epified videos. In this video "Krishna Rides Hesten" Krishna told everyone that he would ride the largest and most aggressive bull in the village. I think I could change this story up by allowing the preacher to tame and ride a crazy bronco. In the story I would use the preachers love for all of God's creatures as his motivation. This horse could be very crazy and have an angry owner that just
wild bronco
wished to kill the horse after many defeats. The horse could then turn out to be the most trusting and fastest steed in the west. In a future story the horse may turn out to save the preachers life, repaying his debt for saving him earlier in his life. I could do it the same way by having the preacher sing to him at night and feed him sweetfeed. This would gain the trust of the horse and make them become good friends.

    I really love the epified videos as well! They explain the epics and other stories so throughly and I don't find it boring either! One day when I have time, I want to go through all the videos and increase my knowledge about Hinduism and all of the tales that the religion has to offer. I hope you have a great day!

Week 6 Story: The Meek Prince

A long time ago in the kingdom of Lanka there lived two twin princes that were coming of the age to look for a wife and be wed. The two boy’s names were Shirma and Brahima. Although they were twins, the two young men were quite different from one another in both looks and attitude. Shirma was the first born of the two and was much larger and mightier than his brother Brahima. Shirma had long flowing hair and skin that was as fair as a lotus petal. He was also much more out going that Brahima. In today’s lingo, one might say he had a certain “bad-boy” swagger to him. Not that he was looking for trouble or was trouble but instead like he knew he was better than anyone else and let everyone know he knew. Brahima on the other hand was quite the opposite.
