My favorite place to be

Taking Myth and Folklore last year I was very tempted to go ahead an copy what my favorite place was from that post and put it here. That post was about my love for the lake and how it had shaped me since I was a boy. Even though it is my favorite place to be in the whole world, I thought I might share another place I always enjoy. This isn't a place that you can find on a map (well at least not the same place on the map at different times). You can't put an address on it. There is only room for one here. The place I am talking about is my car. It was a high school boys dream and my reality.
It began with a classic mustang, a boy with the desire to make old things new again, and a father that was very patient and was willing to pass his knowledge of cars onto his son. It may have taken my whole high school career to make what many thought was an old junker new again, but in my mind it was all time well spent. When I get behind the wheel of my pride and joy it is much like hopping in a time machine. It takes me back to younger days of cruising with friends, having no where to go just wasting gas and time. I know that those days that I spent wrenching on that car will be some of the best memories I will have with my father and that is why it is my favorite place to be. Maybe not because it is the most beautiful at times or most mystifying of scenes, but instead because this spot holds some of the best memories I know I will ever have and is a place where my mind is taken back to those days.

  1. Oh, this is fabulous: a favorite place, Kasey... on a place the move! I like the idea of a Mustang Time Machine (take that, DeLorean!) ... maybe you need to use the power of imagination to make your Mustang into a REAL time machine to travel back into ancient India this semester! :-)

  2. Hi Kasey! I took Mythology and Folklore last year too and I felt bad about just sharing the same one I did last year but I’m glad you decided to share another favorite place of yours. That is so cool that you remodeled and worked on your car throughout high school. That is such great persistence and now you can have something you’ll always be proud of accomplishing.
